Find The Lost is a lost & found service for PUCIT students and staff, operated by Ackermen. This page explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- Google sign-in: your name, university email address and profile picture. Only @pucit.edu.pk accounts can sign up.
- Your posts: item title, description, tags, location on campus, date, and any photos you upload.
- Claims and reports: the answers you give to a secret question and reports you file.
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers. We only use cookies needed to keep you signed in.
How we use it
- To show posts and help lost items find their owners.
- When you tap “This is mine” or “I found this”, your name and university email are shared with the other person, and theirs with you, so you can arrange the return.
- To email you about claims on your posts and to remind you about old posts.
Your email is never shown publicly and we never sell your data. Photos of items are public to people who open the post, so do not include ID or card numbers.
How long we keep it
- Posts with no activity are marked outdated after about 3 weeks and expire after about a month.
- Photos are deleted 60 days after a post is resolved or expired.
- You can edit or delete your posts at any time from “My posts”.
Who processes the data
Supabase (database, sign-in and photo storage), Vercel (hosting), SendPulse (email) and Google (sign-in).
Your choices
To have your account and data deleted, email findthelost@ackermen.com.
